Escalators

An escalator is a moving staircase – a conveyor transport device for carrying people between floors of a building. The device consists of a motor-driven chain of individual, linked steps that move up or down on tracks, allowing the step treads to remain horizontal. Escalators are used around the world to move pedestrian traffic in places where elevators would be impractical. Principal areas of usage include department stores, shopping malls, airports, transit systems, convention centers, hotels, arenas, stadiums and public buildings. Escalators have the capacity to move large numbers of people, and they can be placed in the same physical space as one might install a staircase. They have no waiting interval (except during very heavy traffic), they can be used to guide people toward main exits or special exhibits, and they may be weatherproofed for outdoor use. A non-functioning escalator can function as a normal staircase, whereas many other conveyances become useless when they break down.

Travelators

Truss

The truss of the ST family of moving walkways is a welded structural steel construction designed to safely carry the passenger and mechanism loadings. To prevent hidden corrosion, all load bearing members of the truss comprises of open steel profile.

Brake

The brake is designed to automatically stop the moving walkway whenever power is interrupted. To minimise wear and harsh braking, the control system monitors the speed of the pallet band and applies the brake only when it comes cto a omplete stop.

Pallet

The pallet is made of one piece die-cast aluminum alloy with closely spaced cleats designed to provide a secure foothold. To prevent hidden corrosion, all load bearing members of the truss comprises of open steel profile when it comes cto a omplete stop.

Handrail

The handrail is a continuous band design manufactured of vulcanised rubber, factory spliced, with a multi-ply fabric core and steel cord reinforcement. The rubber composition used ensures that the handrail surface remains smooth and intact throughout its entire service life. The internal gliding surface has nylon webbing to minimise friction and wear.

Drive Machine

The motor is a three phase squirrel cage AC induction motor specifically developed for escalator and walkway service. The gear unit is worm gear type composed of precision steel worm and bronze worm. Gears and bearings are lubricated by an oil bath inside an oil tight housing. The reduction gear unit is connected to the step band main drive shaft by duplex.

Optional features

Automatic detects approaching passengers and controls the moving walkway to run only when needed. To provide better illumination, skirt and comb lighting can be fitted to all ST moving walkways.To further enhance passenger safety, dress guards can be fitted to the skirt panels, prevent accidental trapping of dresses and shoes.

Elevator Traction Machine

Our AT Series traction machines, both geared and gearless are designed to provide ultimate in safe, reliable and smooth travel spanning to speeds ranging from 0.3 MPS and can handle passenger capacities ranging from 4 to 26 passengers. AT Series also includes geared traction machines suitable for handling freights up to 5MT.
